Rishikesh (Uttarakhand): Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited (THDC), which is working on the construction of Asia's largest Tehri Dam, is now working on a technology, which will set new dimensions in the field of electricity generation. After this technology, the country will never have to deal with the electricity shortage. Apart from this, THDC is working on electric cooking and a new hydrogen project. The blueprint of the projects has been prepared. For this, an agreement has also been signed between the state government and THDC. Soon the work on the project will be started in a phased manner. The state government will have full authority over the projects.

The company is working on the storage of surplus energy which can be done after producing more energy than required. This technology has been named the National Hydrogen Mission which is a proposed scheme of the Central Government.

Giving details, THDC CMD Rajiv Vishnoi said that there will be no shortage of electricity in the country after the implementation of this scheme. For this scheme, many plants will be set up in the country.

Electric Charging Station for Pollution Control

Vishnoi further said that in order to save the environment, the government is giving more emphasis on running electric vehicles while reducing diesel and petrol vehicles. In such a situation, on the lines of foreign countries, THDC has planned to set up electric charging stations to charge electric vehicles at different places, which has got the green signal from the central government. The purpose of these electric charging stations will be only to increase the use of electric vehicles in the country so that pollution is minimized.

Electric Cooking Scheme

Vishnoi said that THDC is also worried about the continuous increase in the prices of domestic gas cylinders. To reduce the budget, TSDC has also prepared a scheme, which has been named Electric Cooking. Under this scheme, electricity will be made available in homes at affordable rates, so that maximum cooking work can be done on electric appliances.

Struggling to save the atmosphere

THDC has also decided to reduce the carbon generation emitted by vehicles and factories. For this, work is being done on new technology. With this technology, THDC will set up a plant in every city, which will first store carbon by pulling it from the atmosphere. Then it will convert into oil. However, it is yet to be decided for what purpose the oil will be used.

Vishnoi said that TSDC is trying to make India progress towards progress by working not only on energy but also on many other schemes.

Meanwhile, 12 new hydrogen projects will be started in the state, which will have a power generation capacity of 3 thousand MW. THDC has got in principle consent from the state government for projects costing an estimated 20 thousand crores. THDC will bear 75 per cent and the state government will bear 25 per cent expenditure in the construction of new hydrogen projects.
