Pithoragarh: In a shocking case of triple murder, a man allegedly killed his mother-in-law, her daughter and daughter-in-law in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand on Friday, officials said. The motive behind the triple murder was not immediately know even as the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The accused remains absconding after the triple murder even as police have launched manhunt to nab him. The alleged triple murder has been reported from the revenue area of Gangolihat Tehsil area of Pithoragarh district. A police official said that the accused Santosh Ram committed the crime in the early hours of Friday at Bursam village where he killed his mother-in-law, her daughter and daughter-in-law.

The deceased have been identified as Hemanti Devi, Ramadevi and Mayadevi. The accused is absconding after executing the incident at 5:00 am, the police official said. It is being said that there was a family dispute in the morning, after which the accused committed the triple murder. Soon after the incident, a team of police rushed to the spot to probe the case.
The Revenue Police is engaged in the investigation of the case. While confirming the triple murder, Kotwali in-charge Gangolihat Mangal Singh Negi said that the accused is absconding. The matter belongs to the revenue sector, but the police is investigating and taking action in the entire matter, he said. A special team of police has been formed to nab the accused and he will be arrested soon, the Kotwali in-charge Gangolihat said.
Police have taken the bodies into custody and they are being sent for post-mortem. The incident has caused shock and grief in the area.
