Haridwar: A special suit has been made for jawans of Government Railway Police (GRP) to enable them to perform their duty amidst the threat of coronavirus. By wearing this suit, GRP jawans will be able to help the people while keeping themselves safe.
At the same time, this suit does not cost much and so there will be no financial burden on the railways. Railway SP Manjunath TC got this special suit made by a private company of Haridwar as a protective gear.
Made from a mixed fibre of plastic and cotton, the suit will provide protection against coronavirus. Manjunath TC said the jawans of IRB and GRP have been deployed to serve the people in times of severe threat from the coronavirus which has engulfed the whole world. The jawans, particularly, are vulnerable to the virus as they are also distributing food among the poor.
A Haridwar-based company has made this special suit as a protective gear for the jawans. After consultation with private garment manufacturing companies, a fabric made of synthetic and cotton yarn was chosen to make the special suit which costs only Rs 175. He clarified that the suit cannot be used in hospitals but was suitable for the jawans doing field duty.
