Dehradun: At least Six people were killed on Monday following a cloudburst in Chamoli's Ghat area in Uttarakhand.
According to State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), heavy rainfall is expected in the region especially along the river banks.
Cloudburst in Chamoli claims 6 lives
Three deaths were reported from Lakhee village, while two persons lost their lives in Banjbagar village, the officials said.
Besides, several houses were reportedly washed away following the cloudburst.
The district police has also directed the forces to help the people move into safer places. The disaster relief teams have been instructed to keep equipment ready to address any issue.
The search and rescue operations in the area were carried out by the SDRF.
