New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat on Thursday met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the national capital to congratulate him on being sworn in as the 11th CM of the state. Speaking to media after the meeting, CDS General Bipin Rawat said, "I just came here to congratulate him. He offered me sweets. We didn't talk about anything else. I told him that I'll meet him in Dehradun and whatever is needed for Uttarakhand government, we will provide to the state."
Notably, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also slated to meet the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval today. Sources said that it will be a courtesy call as the CM will be meeting the NSA for the first time.

Earlier in the afternoon, Pushkar Singh Dhami also met Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and requested the development of IDPL, Rishikesh as a special tourism zone. He further informed the Tourism Minister about the project in which a biodiversity part, international convention centre, resort, hotel, and wellness centre is being planned in an area of around 600 acres in Rishikesh.
The Union Tourism Minister has assured the CM of extending all possible help to the state for the development of tourism. Union Minister of State for Tourism Ajay Bhatt was also present in the meeting. Ajay Bhatt is also a BJP MP from Nainital. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also called Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, Telecommunications, Electronics and Information Technology.

They discussed the ongoing railway projects in the state including the Roorkee-Deoband, Tanakpur-Bageshwar, and Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway lines. The Uttarakhand CM has also requested an early sanction for the Dhampur-Kashipur via Jaspur rail line and the operation of the Corbett-Eco Express train between Delhi and Ramnagar.
