Haridwar: An underground blast in the LPG gas line took place Saturday night in Jwalapur after which the gas continued to leak for several hours before authorities arrived at the spot.
Locals informed the administration and company officials about the incident after which SDM Gopal Singh along with company authorities rushed to the spot.
After several hours of effort, the gas leakage was stopped averting a major accident.
SDM Gopal Singh said that there was leakage in the gas pipeline causing a small blast. But thankfully, there was no fire.
He added that on the incident spot, it has been seen that the pipeline above one meter was slightly buried and a pit was being dug by the nearby plot owner. It may be because of that the incident happened and the JCB machine has been captured, said the SDM.
