CM Yogi orders dismissal of tainted police officers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered dismissal of police officer involved in grave crimes after the Ghorakhpur incident. Adityanath ordered to enlist the names of police officers involved in crimes.

Lucknow: Responding to the Ghorakpur incident in which a businessman died during raid at a hotel room on September 28, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said it is not acceptable at all. Adityanath ordered the dismissal of police officers from service who are involved in grave crimes.

"There should be no place for such people in the police department. Identify such people with proof and provide a list. Action will be taken against all as per rules," said Adityanath. As per CMO sources, tainted police officers will not be deputed to pertinent positions in the field.

Six policemen have been suspended after the incident. "Six police personnel have been suspended for negligence during a raid at a hotel room, in which a man was injured. He was later hospitalised but succumbed to injuries. The matter to be probed by SP North," said Gorakhpur Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada. Post mortem report said the businessman Manish Gupta sustained injuries on face, head and several other body parts.
