Wooden abode for Ram Lalla built in Kashi

A wooden temple has been built in Kashi to place the idol of Lord Shree Ram until the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to be completed. There will be a total of 15 members in the trust -- 9 permanent and 6 nominated members - in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust which will take decisions related to the construction of the temple.

Varanasi: In the city of religion and spirituality, Kashi, also known as 'City of Light' a wooden temple has been built to place the idol of Lord Shree Ram.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand, a representative of Shankaracharya in Varanasi, has demanded that the idol of Lord Shri Ram should be kept in this temple until the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to be completed.

The temple is made from teak wood and has been prepared on the order of Dwarka and Sharada Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati.

Swami Swaroopanand has also asked to shift the wooden temple in Ayodhya after its construction completed.

On being asked about the construction of the temple in Ayodhya, Swami Avimukteshwaranand said, “Yes, we have mapped the tent and sanctum-sanctorum areas as per Guruji's wishes who wants the temple to be made of gold."

"The tent is established in 22 feet by 25 feet and the core area where Ram Lalla's idol is kept is three feet by six feet" he added.

The plan is in its nascent stage and the amount of gold required for the temple is yet to be calculated.

After the construction of Ram Mandir, it will be handed over to the trust, Swami Avimukteshwaranand said.

There will be a total of 15 members in the trust -- 9 permanent and 6 nominated members - in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust which will take decisions related to the construction of the temple. The government has also made nine rules which will be the basis of how the trust will work.

According to some reports, the trust meeting on Wednesday could finalise the date to start construction of the Ram temple.
