New Delhi: A Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde, dismissed petitions which sought reconstitution of Judicial Enquiry Commission probing the encounter of gangster Vikas Dubey.
The petitions were filed by Advocate Ghanshyam Upadhyay and Anoop Awasthi who had sought removal of DGP KL Gupta, citing his statements made to media allegedly justifying the killing of Vikas Dubey and his aides.

These 2 petitioners had earlier been moved to the top court seeking a CBI/NIA enquiry into the matter apprehending it to be a planned encounter.
CJI today rebutted the petitioners' claim and said that there is no bias expressed by the investigating officers and they have made it clear in their statements that an inquiry is going on and the culprits will be punished. Commenting further, CJI said that they can not change a person like this just because of the petitioners' apprehension because they are only looking at a part of it.
"There is a Supreme Court judge, High Court judge on the panel. The inquiry commission will not be vitiated because of one officer," added CJI.
The matter was dismissed by the court.
