Varanasi citizens lucky to elect India's PM: Swaraj

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that the people of Varanasi are lucky as they are choosing the Prime Minister of the country. PM Modi will be filing his nomination from the constituency today.

Varanasi: With PM Modi all set to file his nomination from Varanasi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that the people of the constituency are lucky to be choosing the Prime Minister of India.

Swaraj expressed confidence at Modi's re-election

BJP President Amit Shah today met NDA leaders in Varanasi, where Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Anupriya Patel, and Sushma Swaraj were present.

Speaking to reporters at the meet, Swaraj said, "The people of Varanasi are indeed lucky as they are choosing the Prime Minister of India, while people from other constituencies are choosing their MPs."

Swaraj further expressed confidence that Modi will be re-elected with a thumping majority - both as the Varanasi MP, and the Prime Minister of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will later in the day file his nomination for the Varanasi Parliamentary seat after offering prayers at the Kal Bhairav temple.
