Budaun (Uttar Pradesh): In an extremely inhuman incident, a man reportedly assaulted his wife and locked her inside the house following an argument between the couple in Uttar Pradesh Budaun.
According to reports, the woman remained trapped inside the house for a day, but when she realised that her husband had locked her in and left, she started screaming for help from the door.
She appealed to the neighbours to call the police and the media, following which a neighbour informed the cops about the situation.
The police then arrived at the spot and broke open the lock to rescue the woman.
At the time of being rescued, the woman was in an extremely weak state. She said that she had been starving without food and water for several days.
The woman was then taken to the police station, where her statement against her husband was recorded.
The police are in pursuit of the man, who has been absconding since locking his wife in.
