UP CM Yogi continued official meeting even after hearing the news of his father's death

CM Yogi Adithyanath was in a meeting when the news of his father breathing his last was conveyed to him. The CM, however, continued the meeting. Adityanath, in an official communique, announced that he will not attend his father's last rite's on Tuesday due to the ongoing lockdown.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was chairing a high-level meeting at his official residence here, continued with the meeting even after he was informed of his father's death over the phone.

"The CM did not show any signs of disturbance on hearing about his father's death over the phone during the meeting. He continued with the work without even letting anyone know about the death of his father Anand Singh Bisht, who died this morning at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi," said sources.

Adityanath, who has been busy supervising all-important works being done to deal with the coronavirus situation in the state, could not even visit his father while he was admitted to the hospital in the national capital.

Anand Singh Bisht, who was hospitalized last month due to kidney problems, died at 10.44 am on Monday.

The news about his father passing away was announced later by the state government official, sources said. Several political leaders and others have expressed their condolence on the passing of Adityanath's father.

Meanwhile, Adityanath, in an official communique, announced that he will not attend his father's last rite's on Tuesday due to the ongoing lockdown.
