Pratapgarh (UP): Two villagers were killed and several others were injured, when two groups attacked each other with sharp weapons and stones over a land dispute in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police said.
The incident occurred in Sheikhpur area near Raniganj in Pratapgarh district.
According to police, the incident was the result of an old land dispute between Dayashankar Mishra and Chandramani Mishra of the same village.
Soon after the incident, the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where Dayashankar Mishra and his son Anand Mishra died and others are in a critical condition, police added.
Police have taken two people into the custody and other suspects are absconding.
A case has been registered and a search for the others is on, police said.
