Swift action by police prevents man from committing suicide in Uttar Pradesh

Rahul Verma, a resident of Vikas Nagar in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district, had shot a video stating that he will be taking the extreme step by jumping into the river Ganga. The police took swift action and prevented the man from committing suicide.

Amroha: Timely action by the Amroha Police prevented a man from committing suicide in Uttar Pradesh.

According to police, Rahul Verma, a resident of Vikas Nagar, had shot a video stating that he will be taking the extreme step by jumping into the river Ganga.

They said that Rahul's parents informed the police about the matter once the video had gone viral.

"We took quick action and prevented the man from taking the extreme step. We caught him near the Brajghat bridge and handed him over to his parents," said the police.

They further said that during the counselling it was revealed that the man was suffering from depression due to some business-related issues.

It may be mentioned here that a few days back, a video had gone viral on social media where Ayesha, a young woman from Gujarat, can be heard announcing her decision to commit suicide. She committed suicide soon afterwards jumping into the Sabarmati River.
