Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh): The 23-year-old law student from Shahjahanpur, who had levelled harassment charges against former Union minister Swami Chinmayanand, on Thursday was permitted to get admitted in the Bareilly college for her higher education.
The student will be taken to the college under police custody on Friday. She will be applying for the LLM degree.
The father of the victim had applied to the CJM court after she expressed a desire to study further.
The alleged victim in the case is behind the bars in a counter case of extortion. The victim was termed as the mastermind of the extortion plot by the SIT against Chinmayanand with three friends.
The 72-year-old politician has been charged with 'misusing authority for sexual intercourse' or 'sexual intercourse not amounting to the offence of rape', which carries a punishment of five to 10 years in jail and a fine.
A rape charge would have meant a seven-year jail term extending to a life term. He has also been charged with stalking, criminal intimidation and wrongful confinement.
