Chandauli: A case of medical negligence by a surgeon of a private hospital has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Chandauli district on Tuesday.
Three months ago, Prabha Devi, a resident of Chanhata village, underwent an operation at KG Nanda Hospital, where a surgeon allegedly left a towel inside her stomach.
After a few months, she started experiencing abdominal pain and the ultrasound revealed that she had a towel inside her stomach.
The video of the towel being removed surgically in another hospital has gone viral on the social media, as Prabha Devi remains in a critical state.
The accused doctor Anand Prakash Tiwari on the incident said that the victim's operation was done in his hospital but she did not come for the medical follow up.
"Some people are plotting against the hospital and spreading rumours," added Tiwari.
According to Chief Medical officer R K Mishra, no complaints have been received as of now.
"Appropriate action will be taken after receiving the complaint," said R K Mishra.
