Mathura: As many as 12 persons were injured after a speeding car hit them while they were sitting around a bonfire on the roadside on Agra-Delhi expressway in Mathura on Saturday.
The victims, employees of the Vacmet India Limited Unit were returning home from their office when the mishap took place.
"Around 15 people of Vacmet India Limited Unit were returning home from the office when 12 of them were severely injured after being hit by a speeding car on the highway," said Dharmveer, a relative of one the victim.
According to reports, all the injured ones were admitted to a nearby hospital and their condition was stated to be critical.
According to sources, the car driver fled from the spot and police have been informed about the same.
Police have initiated a probe into the matter and the hunt to nab the culprits was on.
