Shri Dwarkadhish Temple reopens; devotees queue up

A large number of people could be seen queuing up in front of Shri Dwarkadhish Temple in Mathura on Wednesday as it was to be reopened after more than two months. People expressed happiness and welcomed the decision to open up religious places across the country.

Mathura: Shri Dwarkadhish Temple was reopened on Wednesday after over two-month-long coronavirus-induced lockdown related restrictions were lifted. A Large number of people queued up in front of the temple to offer their prayers.

District administration has made elaborate arrangements for the visitors in view of the coronavirus pandemic.


People were allowed to enter the temple after thermal screening and sanitization and they were also being guided to maintain required social distancing to save themselves and others from any possible infection.

A woman speaking to ETV Bharat said that she was really happy with the reopening of the temple as she and thousands of others would now be able to offer their prayers every day.


The temple would be opened in two shifts - first from 9.30 am to 11.00 am and later in the evening from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm, the temple administration said.


All religious places were closed down during the national lockdown from March 25, 2020 across the country and the government ordered reopening of the same from June 8, 2020.
