Pratapgarh: A woman from in Kunda town in Uttar Pradesh has said that a police station in Manikpur refused to register her complaint of rape
The woman was returning from Kunda with her daughter around 8 o'clock in the evening when on the way she asked her daughter to buy vegetables and she moved on. On the way ahead, she was stopped by a fellow villager who started misbehaving with her. Seeing her mother, the daughter came to her rescue but was beaten up by the man.
After a crowd gathered at the spot, the man ran away.

The victim after the incident went to the Manikpur police station where she wanted to register the complaint, however, she was chased away and the person at the station said her complaint was wrong, according to the woman.
Police officer Dinesh Dwivedi in a telephone conversation said an investigation has been ordered and denied the woman's version.
In recent times, with many rape cases being reported in the state, the victim's statement alleging the police's inaction raises questions on the Pratapgarh administration.
