New Delhi: Police in Ghaziabad have got a huge success in cracking the case of a murder of a woman and arresting its prime accused after the struggle of ten long years. The woman was killed by her husband in the Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad. The accused, identified as Manoranjan alias Manoj, was having a bounty on his head. He was absconding for ten years and he was living in guise. He was traced after one of his friends posted his picture on social media, police said on Monday.
After getting arrested from Odisha on Sunday, Manoranjan confessed his crime and further investigation into the matter is underway, police added. Notably, Manoranjan was running a photo studio in Ghaziabad and married his assistant Geeta Yadav in 2007. After few years of marriage, Manoranjan started suspecting Geeta's fidelity and they got separated. Sooner, he planned to kill Geeta, who started working as a maid and arranged an illegal pistol. One morning when Geeta was returning from work, Manoranjan shot her and escaped the spot. After killing her, he fled Ghaziabad and started living in Odisha with a fake identity, police said.

Manoranjan adopted several methods to evade police. He never owned social media accounts but one of his friends posted his picture on social media which alerted police. The cyber cell became active and Manoranjan came under the radar of police. After looking for clues for ten years, police finally tracked him and took him into custody.
