New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will adopt Biyarpur and Parhampur villages in his constituency in Varanasi under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana soon, sources said on Monday.
This will be the fifth and sixth villages to be adopted by the Prime Minister in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi.
Due to Coronavirus pandemic, Adarsh villages were not selected last year and now 2 villages will be adopted. Modi will adopt Bariyarpur in Sewpuri block and Parhampur of Araji block of the district under Adarsh Gram Yojana. Meanwhile, the preparations have started at the local level, sources said.
However, no consent letter has been received from the PMO office in this regard. But it is expected that the district authorities will get the official permission soon.
District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that official information has not been received from the PMO regarding the selection of Adarsh village but our preparations will begin as soon as instructions are received. After which, the developmental works will be done.
By adopting these villages, the Prime Minister will bring new hope for development among the locals, he added.
In the previous years, Modi has adopted Jayapur and Nagpur Kakrahiya and Domari villages in Varanasi, sources added.
