Patients complain deterioration in health condition after injection

Some of the patients at Jhansi District hospital were allegedly administered wrong injections as their condition deteriorated soon after the incident. Chief Medical Superintendent has promised to investigate the matter.

Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh): A number of patients admitted in the District Hospital here have complained that their medical condition deteriorated after they were administered wrong medicines.

The affected patients said they started sweating and feeling feverish soon after the staffers administered injections to them. Some of them also experienced severe cold after taking the injections.

"Our health condition deteriorated soon after the injections were administered," said one of the patients.

Meanwhile, commenting on the situation, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr BK Gupta said the incident will be probed to find out what could have gone wrong in the entire process.

"The nurse concerned told me that patients were administered Rantac injection. They have now been given Paracetamol and Decadron injections. It will be investigated as to what could have wrong. It will also be checked if the syringes were defective," he said.
