NSUI holds protest against teachers recruitment scam in UP

The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) organised a sit-in protest in Ghaziabad against the alleged scam in recruitment of assistant teachers in UP. They asked for the resignation of the minister concerned.

Ghaziabad: Demanding resignation of UP's Basic Education Minister Satish Dwivedi for alleged scam in recruitment of assistant teachers in the state, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), student wing of the Congress, on Tuesday held a sit-in protest here.

"We are protesting against the scam that has taken place in the appointments of 69000 teachers," NSUI district chief Rahul Sharma told ETV Bharat here, adding that the person who topped the competitive examination did not even know the name of the President of India.

"The Chief Minister (Yogi Adityanath) should come clean on the matter and all involved corruption in the appointment of teachers should be put behind bars," he demanded.

He said the protest would continue in case the state government does not respond to their demands.

Meanwhile, the Special Task Force (STF) has started investigating the scam in recruitment of assistant teachers in the state.
