Rampur (UP): Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said that 'Notebandi ka jawab votebandi se dia jayega' (People will refrain from voting BJP as their answer to demonetisation).
Addressing an election rally in Rampur, SP chief called voters not to vote for BJP as a reply to demonetisation.
Referring to SP-BSP alliance in the state, he said, "Earlier, the fight was between Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party in UP. But now, we are together and every vote will transfer to one of the two parties."
The BSP is contesting 38 out of 80 parliamentary seats and SP on 37 seats in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections as a part of SP-BSP alliance seat sharing agreement announced on January 12.
