Nepali workers create ruckus at Indo-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh for denying entry

Nepal denied entry to hundreds of its citizens after which they created a ruckus on the Indo-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj. After the intervention of the Indian administration, the were sent back to the quarantine centre.

Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh): Hundreds of Nepalese labourers created a ruckus on the Indo-Nepal border at Maharajnagar in Uttar Pradesh after they were denied entry into Nepal following restrictions of Nepalese Home department.

They were denied entry by the Nepal security forces as part of the precautionary measures in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

The citizens claimed that they have completed their quarantine period, but still, the Nepal government was not allowing them to return home.

After the intervention of the Indian administration, they were sent back to the quarantine centre.

India has entered into the fourth phase of the national lockdown which has been extended till May 31. The fourth phase has come with certain relaxations but restrictions at Indo-Nepal borders remained as tight as it was.
