Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh): Around 2 km of the area have been evacuated after gas leakage from the Indian gas transporter GAIL (India) Limited has been reported from Pratapgarh's Rahatikar village on Saturday.

According to the reports, the leakage was reported from a Pratapgarh based sub-station at 1 am when the workers were about to complete their shifts. Meanwhile, fire tenders have been rushed at the spot to avoid any mishap.

A major fire broke out in the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's gas processing plant at Hazira in Gujarat's Surat district in the early hours of September 24.

However, seven fire tenders and several firefighters immediately reached the spot to provide relief. No casualties have been reported in the incident.
