Muslim couple perform 'tonsure ceremony' of their son in UP temple

Around eleven years ago, the couple had gone to the temple of Goddess Samdha Devi for their wish fulfillment. While seeking blessings from Goddess the couple had vowed before the divine Mother that they would perform 'Mundan sanskara' as per the Sanatan Dharma when their wish is fulfilled.

Kushinagar (Uttar Pradesh): Another example of Hindu-Muslim bonhomie has become a topic of discussion at Papaur village in the Ramkola area in the Kushinnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Celebrations are underway in a Muslim family living in the district. A Muslim couple had been blessed with a male child whose 'Mundan sanskara' was performed at a temple on Monday.

Around 11 years ago, the couple had gone to the temple of Goddess Samdha Devi for their wish fulfilment. While seeking blessings from the Goddess the couple had vowed before the divine Mother that they would perform 'Mundan sanskara' as per the Sanatana Dharma when their wish is fuflilled. So, after 10 years when Muslim family's economic conditions improved, they performed 'Mundan sanskara' of their son at the temple as per the Hindu customs and rituals.

Setting an example of universal brotherhood and love of other religions--Mainuddin and his wife Taserun Nisha--on the occasion of Navratri, went to Dharma Samdha temple to offer prayers to Goddess on barefoot. Around 11 years ago the couple went to the temple to seek blessings of Goddess. Finally, their prayers were heard. Mainuddin and his wife Taserun Nisha were blessed with a male child. There was an atmosphere of rejoicing in the Muslim family.

On Monday, the couple, along with their son Salman, arrived at the temple to offer prayers to Goddess. Amid the beating of drums and musical instruments, the 'Mundan sanskara' of Salman was performed on the temple premises as per Hindu tradition. The boy's head was tonsured. Special prasad of Halwa-Puri was offered to Goddess. Salman's parents Mainuddin and Taserun Nisha said that they were gifted with the male child due to the blessings of Goddess Dharma Samdha.
