Mukhtar Ansari's wife, her brothers booked under stringent law

Acting tough against gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, the Uttar Pradesh police have booked his wife Afsan Ansari and her two brothers - Sarjil Raza and Anwar Shahzad - under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act.

Ghazipur: Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari's wife Afsan Ansari and her two brothers - Sarjil Raza and Anwar Shahzad - have been booked under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act for their alleged involvement in criminal activities and earning money illegally.

Superintendent of police, Ghazipur, Omprakash Singh told ETV Bharat here that they used to work as an organised gang and were involved in a number of illegal activities.

He said the case was filed under the gangsters act to keep an effective check on their criminal and illegal activities.


The police official also said that a case was also registered against Sarjil Raza and Anwar Shahzad year on the charges of land grabbing and submitting fake documents for getting a government contract.
