Shahjahanpur (UP): Mother of a 9-year-old boy who died at the district hospital of Shahjahanpur had to carry her son's dead body after denial of the hospital authorities to provide free ambulance service to her.
The child's mother was seen carrying her son's dead body on the road after her requests failed to get an ambulance from the hospital.
Parents of the 9-year-old, Afroz belongs to Eidgah in Sadar Bazar area rushed to Shahjahanpur district hospital following their son's ill health. While the doctors referred him to the higher centre hospital, he died there before his parents could take him there.
In the meantime, when Afroz's parents asked for an ambulance to the hospital staff to take corpse due to acute poverty, but they were denied for the same.
Following the denial of arrangements for any transport, Afroz's mother carried his corpse and walked along the road.
However, Emergency medical officer of the Shahjahanpur district hospital, Anurag Parasar refusing the allegations said that the kid was referred to the higher centre hospital in Lucknow due to his poor health condition, but his parents told that they will take him to some private hospital.
"The child was taken by his parents at around 9 pm from the hospital. He died somewhere on the way and they had not returned here for treatment," he added.
