Modi earthen pots sell like hot cakes in Kanpur

Rinku, a Kanpur-based earthen pot maker says his business has picked up ever since he started making 'Modi pot'. People are buying the pots which have Modi's pictures and slogans on them. The pot-maker says he being Modi admirer would continue making Modi-centric earthenware.

Kanpur: Realizing the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to be self-reliant and avoid Chinese goods in the backdrop of border tension with the dragon, a pot maker here has come up with an innovative idea of producing earthen pots with his picture on them.

"This has not only increased my sales but proved a medium to take Prime Minister's word to the public," he told ETV Bharat here.

He said with the Prime Minister urging people to boycott Chinese goods, they have started buying things made in India.

"My sales were down. I was thinking to revive the same and then this call was made by the Prime Minister, which provided me the required idea," he said.

He has also written slogans and appeals made by Modi to the people to stay home, and stay safe. Also the slogan "gharon main rehna hai, Corona ko harana hai" (stay at home, defeat the coronavirus).

Known by his first name Rinku, the pot maker, announces without hesitation that he is a 'Modi-Bhakt' (Modi admirer) and would continue to take his word to the public through his art work at any cost.
