Baghpat (UP): A man allegedly stabbed a girl after she resisted a molestation attempt by him in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district.
The victim's family admitted her to the district hospital where she was treated.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Anil, used to frequently eve tease the girl.
"I was filling water at a water point when he (Anil) came and tried to molest me. When I resisted, he stabbed me. Earlier also he had tried to molest me," narrated the victim.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Assistant Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar Mishra said that an FIR has been registered regarding the incident.
"We have filed a case against the accused who is on the run. We have taken two of the relatives of the accused into the custody. We have formed a team to nab the accused as soon as possible, added Mishra.
