Man held for allegedly raping daughter in Pilibhit

A man has been held by police for allegedly raping his daughter at Pilibhit in UP. After the victim informed the matter to her mother over the telephone, the woman lodged a complaint against her husband. The police has launched an investigation into the complaint.

Pilibhit: A man who allegedly raped his daughter has been arrested, the police said.

Superintendent of Police in Pilibhit Jaiprakash Yadav told ETV Bharat here that the incident took place in an area which falls under Puranpur police station on Tuesday. The accused allegedly raped the complainant while his wife was away at her parent's house.

The accused, said the police, threatened the girl to kill her in case she resisted or talked about it to someone. The victim, however, informed her mother over the telephone, who along with her relatives reached the police station directly and filed the complaint against her husband. The police has launched an investigation into the complaint
