Man hacks his wife, brother to death in UP

Suspecting an extra-marital affair between his wife and brother, a 35-year-old man named Shakil allegedly hacked the duo at Naurangabad locality in Uttar Pradesh. Being aware of the incident, locals handed over the accused to the police. Later the alleged weapon has also been recovered.

Lakhimpur Kheri (Uttar Pradesh): A 35-year-old man named Shakil on Monday morning allegedly hacked his wife and younger brother to death with an axe and injured his mother at Naurangabad locality in Uttar Pradesh, police said.

Police suspected that Shakil doubted his wife Shabikunnishan (30) had an extra-marital affair with his brother Mohsin (30) which led the accused to commit such brutal crime.

On the other hand, while Shakil' mother Sabirunnishan attempted to stop the former to commit the murder, he turned on her and injured her hand, police added.

Shakil, who is apparently mentally disturbed, was later held by local residents and handed over to the police, they said, adding that the alleged weapon (axe) has been seized.

Kheri Superintendent of Police (SP) Poonam visited the crime spot and said investigations were on to ascertain the motive behind the gruesome killings.

          Lakhimpur Kheri (UP), Jan 27 (PTI) A 35-year-old man allegedly hacked his wife and younger brother to death with an axe and injured his mother in Naurangabad locality here early Monday morning, police said.
          While the motive for the two killings was not immediately clear, the police suspect that Shakil committed the crime because he believed his wife, Shabikunnishan (30), and brother, Mohsin (30), were having an affair.
          His mother, Sabirunnishan, attempted to stop him during the attack but he turned on her and injured her hand, they said.
          Shakil, who is apparently mentally disturbed, was later held by local residents and handed over to the police, they said, adding that the axe was seized.
