Clash between 2 transgender groups, cops resort to cane-charge

After two groups of transgenders clashed with each other and created chaos in Meerut's Lal Kuti police station area, cops resorted to cane-charge to control the situation. The mutual dispute between the two groups fuelled after they reached the same house to demand money on an occasion.

Meerut: Several transgenders were cane-charged by the police allegedly after they created ruckus in Lalkurti police station area here on Monday.

Two different groups of transgenders entered a dispute after they reached the same house demanding gift on an occasion. Both the sides allegedly hurled abuses at each other.

SSP Nitin Tiwari informed, "The two groups misbehaved with each other and created a chaos in the area. Force was used to control them. If the force used was more than required, a probe to be conducted."

The police of Lalpur police station, who reached the spot, cane-charged both the parties and took them to the police station.
