Varanasi: A Kuala Lumpur-bound Himalaya flight H-9891 made an emergency landing at Varanasi Airport on Saturday due to bad weather.
Flight H-9891 took from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Kathmandu with 117 passengers at 3:30 am on Saturday. The aircraft reached the Kathmandu airfield at around 7:10 am. However, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) in Kathmandu rejected permission for the flight to land, citing bad weather and reduced visibility.

The aircraft was later diverted at 8:10 pm and sent to Varanasi Airport.

The plane landed in Varanasi at 8:40 am. Later, the flight took off for Kathmandu at 10 am after the weather improved in the destination airport.
