Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): In what could be a big revelation in connection with the Kanpur encounter in which eight cops were martyred, an audio clip has gone viral on social media, where slain Deputy Superintendent of Police Devendra Mishra is purportedly accusing the then SO Vinay Tiwari of having tipped gangster Vikas Dubey of the raid.
In the viral audio clip, purportedly of a phone conversation between Devendra Mishra and Kanpur SP (Rural) Brijesh Srivastava, Mishra is purportedly heard saying that the then local Station Officer (SO) of Chaubeypur police station Vinay Tiwari pressurised him to come on the raid.
"The SO is saying that he would go for the raid only after I reach there. So, I am going," Mishra is purportedly heard saying.
The SP then purportedly asked Mishra not to worry. "Use your mind, we have a great chance of catching him (Vikas Dubey)," Srivastava purportedly said.
Mishra then purportedly accused the SO of "touching Dubey's feet"
"I will tell you about him. When he touches his feet, what else can happen? I told him that if he has relations with him (Dubey) then it might lead to 2-4 murders. Only a criminal can tell about other criminals, he said," Mishra purportedly told the SP.

Mishra then purportedly told the SP that the SO might have already informed Dubey of the raid and warned him to escape.
Allegations of corruption against SSP, SO
Later in the audio clip, Mishra purportedly makes allegations against the former SSP, in an apparent reference to Anant Dev Tiwari.
Mishra purportedly accused the SO of gambling, and revealed that he himself had caught the SO in the act. However, Mishra alleged that the SSP took Rs 5 lakh from the SO and dropped all investigations against the SO.
Meanwhile, another audio clip of a purported conversation between Mishra and then SP Vinay Tiwari has also gone viral on social media.
In the clip, Tiwari informs Mishra of a Rahul Tiwari filing an application against Dubey. Tiwari purportedly said that a case can be made under Sections 364 (kidnapping), 342, and 307. Tiwari said that someone was abducted, taken in a vehicle and locked in a room. He then said that Dubey had also opened fire.

When Mishra asked whether the incident indeed happened, Tiwari purportedly said that a fracas had taken place.
Pertinently, the Uttar Pradesh Police had earlier suspended Vinay Tiwari, the station officer at Chaubeypur station and were examining the possibility that he informed Dubey that a police team was heading to Bikru village to arrest him.
Meanwhile, former Kanpur SSP Anant Dev Tiwari, who was posted as DIG STF, was shifted in the same capacity to PAC Moradabad after his role in protecting the station officer of Chaubeypur was found suspicious.
