Two aides of gangster Vikas Dubey were killed in separate encounters in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police said.
"While Kartikeya alias Prabhat was gunned down in Kanpur when he tried to flee from police custody, another aide of Vikas Dubey, Praveen alias Bauwa Dubey, was killed in an encounter in Etawah," ADG Kanpur JN Singh informed on Thursday.

"The police team surrounded a person at about 4.30 am and he was killed in an exchange of fire. The deceased was identified as Praveen alias Bauwa Dubey, who was wanted in connection with the Kanpur ambush. He was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on information leading to his arrest," Etawah Superintendent of Police (SP) Akash Tomar said.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Two aides of the wanted gangster Vikas Dubey have been killed by police in two separate encounters in Kanpur and Etawah on Thursday morning.
Prabhat Mishra was arrested on Wednesday and was sent to transit remand by District Court in Faridabad. Prabhat tried to flee from police custody and was shot in leg, later he succumbed to his injuries while he was being brought to Kanpur, IG Kanpur Range said.
Ranveer Shukla, another close accomplice of the wanted gangster Vikas Dubey was shot dead in an encounter with police in Kanpur.
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force on Wednesday killed an aide of gangster Vikas Dubey who was involved in an ambush in Kanpur last week in which eight policemen died, a senior official said.
Amar Dubey, who carried a reward of Rs 25,000, was killed in an encounter in Maudaha village in Hamirpur district, Special Task Force IG Amitabh Yash said.
According to STF sources, the police team had received a tip off about Amar's presence in the district and when they tried to close in on him, the criminal opened fire on them, He was killed in retaliatory firing around 6.30.a.m.
