Ghaziabad (UP): Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi's organisation Bachpan Bachao Andolan has rescued six children from Awadh-Assam Express on Wednesday.
After the rescue, all these children have been handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP) Ghaziabad.
Arshad Mehndi, the country head of the Red and Rescue Wing of the Bachpan Bachao Andolan, said that information about the trafficking of children from across the country comes to the central office of our organisation. On the basis of which rescue operations are conducted by different teams.
"Yesterday, we received information that about 10 to 12 children are being brought to Delhi to work in the Awadh Assam Express. Many members of our team boarded the train from Hapur and searched for all these children, after which six children have been rescued," Arshad Mehndi informed.
"The age of these children is 9 to 14 years and were being brought to Delhi from Bihar and Bengal," he added.
According to the information, these six children were being taken to Delhi by five people.
The police have started questioning all these people as to why they were taking the children to Delhi.
All these children will be presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) after the medical test.
