Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh): Scores of Indian students, who are currently stranded in Kyrgyzstan, have appealed to the government to facilitate their return to India, as a student from Uttar Pradesh succumbed to the disease.
Many Indian students, who were pursuing MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, are stranded in the Central Asian nation owing to travel curbs. To make matters worse, students have complained that they are not receiving proper medical facilities even as COVID-19 is spreading rapidly in the nation.
The students have been appealing to the Prime Minister, Indian embassy, and even the External Affairs Ministry across various social media platforms to come to their aid.
"I fold my hands and appeal, please help us reach India before something bad happens. Save us while we're still alive. The government will anyway reach us if we die," an Indian student said in a video message.

This comes as an MBBS student Pavan Kumar Gupta, hailing from Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district, passed away due to COVID-19 recently.
Pavan's uncle Shiv said that his final exam was scheduled on July 8, following which he was supposed to return home to India. However, the family received a call on July 5, informing them that Pavan had brain haemorrhage and pneumonia.
Subsequently, Pavan tested positive for COVID-19, and succumbed to the disease.
On the family, request, Bhadohi District Magistrate Rajendra Prasad wrote a letter to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary (Home) to facilitate bringing Pavan's body back home.
