Hathras (Uttar Pradesh): The family of the Hathras teenager, who died after allegedly being gang-raped, on Thursday raised questions about their own security, and alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched against them.

"Now, what can I say about our security? Such a big conspiracy is being hatched against us. Why? Just because we are poor, have no power, and belong to the lower class?" asked the victim's father.

"I fold my hands, I just have one request - that our daughter gets justice, and no other girl should go through the same horror," he added.

Meanwhile, the victim's aunt raised questions on reports of meetings held in support of the accused.

"If this is the case, how can we expect justice? Meeting are being held in support of the accused. Us on the other hand, could not even see the face of our daughter one a final time," she said.

Pertinently, an FIR has already been registered against former BJP MLA Rajveer Singh Pehelvan and 100 others for a meeting attended by scores of people in Hathras defying prohibitory orders.

The meeting was held outside Pehelvan's house on October 4 where they defended the accused in the alleged gang-rape of the Dalit woman, and demanded registration of an FIR against her family members.

Meanwhile, the victim's mother said that the family knows nothing about reports that suggested that calls were made between the victim's brother and the accused.

The 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by four upper-caste men in Hathras on September 14. She died on September 29 at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital where she had been brought for treatment.
