Gyanvapi Mosque archaeological survey case hearing on August 12

In the Gyanvapi Mosque case, the hearing was held today on the monitoring petition by the Civil Judge of Fast track court against the order issued by a District Judge to conduct an archaeological survey. The court has fixed August 12 for the next hearing on this matter.

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): In the Gyanvapi Mosque case, the hearing was held today on the monitoring petition by the Civil Judge of Fast track court against the order issued by a District Judge to conduct an archaeological survey. The court has fixed August 12 for the next hearing on this matter.

The monitoring petition was filed by the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board and Anjuman Inazaniya Masajid against the decision of the archaeological survey by District Judge Ashutosh Tiwari. However, the litigant friend and lawyer Vijay Shankar Rastogi had objected on July 9. The court then fixed the date of August 5 for the filing of the counter-reply affidavit by the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board and Anjuman Inazaniya Masajid.

On Thursday, the advocates of UP Sunni Central Waqf Board - Tauheed Khan and Abhay Nath Yadav, and advocates of Anjuman Inazaniya Masajid - Rais Ahmed Ansari and Mumtaz Ahmed, had to present their stand in the court. They also filed the counter-reply affidavit by the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board and Anjuman Inazaniya Masajid. On which litigant friend, Vijay Shankar Rastogi, sought time from the court to file his reply. The court has now fixed the next date of hearing on August 12.

Earlier, in the Gyanvapi Mosque case, the Civil Court, while giving its verdict on April 8, 2021, accepted the application of the Archaeological Survey. After this, the court handed over the responsibility of this matter to the Central government. The court had issued an order to conduct an archaeological survey by forming a team of five people in this case. The court had ordered to conduct an archaeological survey of the site, excavate the site and present its report in the court.

Advocate Tauheed Khan of UP Sunni Central Waqf Board said that they have filed a counter-affidavit. On which it was said by Vijay Shankar Rastogi, the advocate of the ancient idol Swayambhu Jyotirlinga, that many new things have been mentioned in the counter affidavit. To file a reply, he sought time from the court and the court has fixed the next date for August 12.

At the same time, Vijay Shankar Rastogi, the litigant friend of the ancient idol Swayambhu Jyotirlinga Lord Vishwanath, said that many things have been written in a contemptuous and derogatory manner in the affidavit filed by the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board and Anjuman Inaztiya Masajid. He added that he sought time from the court to file a reply.
