Gonda (UP): "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." This famous quote by Nelson Mandela reminds us that if the passion of learning is combined with the true desire and hard work then age is just a number.
One such live example can be seen in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district where 78-year-old Ramkaran Prajapati is giving his intermediate examinations from UP board.
Prajapati is a resident of Dulam Bankatwa village in Gonda's Ithiyathok block and is a potter by profession. He earns a living by making earthenware.
Hailing from a financially weak family, he was born on July 11, 1942, and cleared his high school examination from Janta Inter College in the year 1997. Now he is all set to pass his 12th board exams in 2020.
Recently, he appeared for his first exam of Hindi literature at AP Inter College in Mankapur area of Gonda by doing self-studies at home.
He is also involved in teaching students at a private school but aspires to clear his 12th exams.
Prajapati has two sons and one of them is a cycle mechanic.
In the current scenario where people are running after studies to get decent jobs and earn a standard living, Prajapati is studying to become learned and get an intermediate degree.
In a fragile age of 78, he is educating himself to make his dream come true.
