Ghaziabad: As many as nine online fraudsters have been arrested by Ghaziabad police and cyber cell teams on Tuesday. Computer systems, several mobile phones, debit and credit cards have also been seized from them.
According to police sources, the gang was active in the district for three-four months and they have looted several businessmen.
The police say they received a complaint from a businessman in the city stating that he received a call from an unknown person, who asked for his bank details and also threatened him in the name of renewing the policy.
The accused persons used to call on the customer's mobile. After that, they send OTP on mobile used to transfer money from the account to their account. The accused told that when they transferred from the customer's account, they break the SIM and threw it.
Meanwhile, police said that the criminal history of the accused persons is going to be cracked. Police have started interrogating them and further action will be taken accordingly.
