Ayodhya: As per the orders of the Supreme Court, the foundation stone for the mosque has laid in Dhannipur village in Ayodhya town on Tuesday.
Prior to laying the foundation stone, members of the Indo Gulf Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) planted trees to create a green corridor in the area.
The IICF has said that the mosque will be dedicated to the 1857 war hero Ahmadullah Shah. Shah was referred to as the ‘Lighthouse of Rebellion’ in the Awadh region during India’s first war of independence against the British.
Speaking to media persons on this occasion, IICF Secretary Athar Hussain said that the organisation is considering to name a part of the mosque project to Ahmadullah Shah, who was a great revolutionary and freedom fighter from Ayodhya.
"Locals are quite happy with the construction of the mosque. Especially for the people of the Muslim community, it is a happy occasion that a huge mosque is going to be constructed in their village. Now many villages and large scale people will be provided better treatment as a hospital has been built in this area," Hussain added.
"In remaining land, a 200-bed super speciality hospital, a publishing house, community kitchen, a library and Indo-Islamic Cultural Research Centre will be developed", he added.
