Ghaziabad: ETV Bharat's reportage over the plight of municipal workers, who have been discharging their duties sans any discernible safety measures in Mohan Nagar, caught the attention of a social organisation operating in the area.
Recently, the organisation headed by one Ashok Kansal, came to the aid of municipal workers and distributed Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits.
The news-story caught the attention of the people as it highlighted the plight of the workers, reportedly deployed in a hotspot and were without any PPEs.
The workers even outlined their issues and said that they were scared of getting infected.
Ashok Kansal said: "After watching the news at ETV Bharat, I came to know that the sanitation workers are risking their lives. Hence, I reached out to them."
Kansal had contacted ETV Bharat's correspondent to get information regarding sanitation workers, subsequently leading to the distribution of PPE kits.
