Jhansi: A school here in Rajapura village waived off three months fees of students to financially support parents in the wake of nationwide lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic.
Sanjeev Yadav, the school owner, announced that fees of 227 students for the month of April, May and June has been waived off.
The Vansh Academy school will bear a loss of Rs 3,57,840 to support families who are badly affected due to lockdown.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sajeev Yadav said: "Due to coronavirus pandemic, financial status of farmers, labourers are badly affected in our area. Everyone is contributing towards society in this need of hour. So I decided to waive off fees of three months of my students."
"People appreciated my decision and are also coming forward to support society in their ways," he further said.
Students studying in this school till class five basically belong to family of farmers and labourers.
The locals appreciated this nobel step taken by Sanjeev and demanded that other schools should also come forward and take such decisions.
Meanwhile, people are getting inspired from Sanjeev Yadav and are coming forward to support the needy people.
The flour mill operator Ram Yadav has decided to grind free wheat for needy and poor mill.
Kalpana Namdev, a student is making masks and distributing it for free among villagers.
Another villager, Ram Naresh is threshing crops of poor farmers for free from his tractor.
