Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh): Homeopathic medicine Arsenic Album 30, which was recommended by the Union AYUSH Ministry as a prophylactic against COVID-19, is proving effective in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, officials claimed.
Officials at Gorakhpur's district homeopathic hospital, claimed that the medicine has been administered to close to 13,000 people in the district, and is proving effective as the number of infections here is comparatively low.
According to reports, research has also been done on the medicine at homeopathic research centres in Lucknow and Noida. It has reportedly been found that the medicine has no side affects and is also effective in boosting immunity.
Dr Vijay Gupta, an official at the district homeopathic hospital, said that Arsenic Album 30 has been distributed to around 13,000 people in the district and is proving to be extremely effective.
"One is supposed to take the medicine in the morning for three days in a row, and then once again after a gap of a month. The body' immunity increases and it is able to fight off new diseases," he said.

"The medicine is being extensively used in Gorakhpur. People are either getting it prescribed from us or buying it on their own. I believe the medicine is the reason why the local populace is not being infected. The only cases are from the outer areas of the city," he added.
Once the medicine is prescribed, officials have also been contacting people for their feedback.
"We have been prescribing the medicine for the past three months now. We also continuously take feedback from the people. In my own family, seven people tested positive for COVID-19. But all of them were asymptomatic and are doing well," said Dr Meena Pushkar Dohre, the senior medical officer (SMO) at the hospital.
Besides Gorakhpur, around 10,000 people have also reportedly used the medicine in Lucknow. According to reports, the medicine was also distributed among the GRP personnel, and a few of those who did not take the medicine tested positive for COVID-19.
