Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh): The special investigation team (SIT) will submit its status report before a single bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday.
The bail application of the 23-year-old law student, who has accused former Union minister Swami Chinmayanada of rape and was later named in an extortion case, will also be heard by the bench.
Naveen Arora, Inspector General (public grievances) is leading the SIT and is being supported by IPS officer Bharti Singh.
The bail application in the High Court was filed on October 19 by senior advocate Ravi Kiran Jain along with Deba Siddiqui and Swetashwa Agarwal.
The 23-year-old law student was arrested last month by SIT on charges of extortion, criminal intimidation, criminal intimidation by anonymous communication and disappearance of evidence.
Meanwhile, former Union minister Swami Chinmayanand on Monday sent a letter to the police demanding that the Gangster Act should also be slapped on the woman for allegedly blackmailing him.
