Jaunpur: A case has been filed against the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti in the civil court of Jaunpur district accusing her of using abusive language for the restoration of Article 370 and the national flag of India.
Advocate Himanshu Srivastava filed a suit in the court accusing PDP Mufti of sedition and insulting the tricolour for which the hearing will be held on November 27.
Srivastava, resident of Kotwali police station area of the district through advocate Upendra Vikram Singh, deposed in the court that there is a deep faith and reverence in the constitution and the law. After the removal of Article 370, the whole country rejoiced that now the tricolour flag will be waved across India and one nation, one flag will remain in the whole country.

However, on 23 October 2020 Mufti gave a statement in the press conference that she will continue to fight the restoration of Article 370. She added that she is not comfortable with current India, and alleged that Jammu and Kashmir flag has been looted. Until the flag has been restored, I will not raise any other flag, she said.
Advocate Himanshu Srivastava said that Mehbooba Mufti should have said that she will raise the tricolour only when the flag of Jammu and Kashmir is restored.
He added that Mufti's 23 October statements have caused great mental distress to the people. "We felt humiliated and dissatisfied. Nor has Mehbooba apologized for her statement instead she tried to weaken the country, incite hatred towards the government established by law and create enmity, disharmony among various classes which comes under the category of treason," he said.
Srivastava demanded the court to file a case against Mufti that would lead to justice and to maintain the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country.
