Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Noor Alam, a Rohingya who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad, for keeping forged Indian documents and allegedly helping others from Myanmar and Bangladesh to settle down in India has levelled graft allegations against officials in Uttar Pradesh.
Alam, who was brought to Lucknow on remand of 5 days, told the ATS officers that department staff were bribed to get fake documents in different districts of UP and NCR. According to the ATS officials, Alam said that he send Rohingyas to Uttar Pradesh with the help of forged documents after getting them into West Bengal. With the help of fake documents, Indian passports were made and then these Rohingyas were sent to the Gulf countries.

"Earlier on June 7, ATS arrested Noor Alam and his accomplice Amir from Ghaziabad. Apart from forged documents, Rs 10 lakh was also recovered from them. Aamir had been brought on the pretext of a job. He was promised that he will be sent to a Gulf country on an Indian passport." said an official.

The matter came to the fore when a Rohingya named Azizul was arrested from Sant Kabir Nagar on January 6 this year.
